Size Guide
Most exchanges happen for one reason: the size. Five minutes with a thread and a ruler will save you the trouble. If anything below is unclear, message us on WhatsApp before you order and we will size you ourselves.
Bangle and kada sizing
Indian bangle sizes are written as 2.2, 2.4, 2.6 and so on. The number refers to the inner diameter of the bangle, not your wrist. Use one of the two methods below.
Method one: measure your hand
- Bring your thumb across to touch your little finger, as if slipping a bangle on.
- Wrap a thread or a soft measuring tape around the widest part of that folded hand, across the knuckles.
- Mark where the thread meets and measure it flat against a ruler. This is your hand circumference.
- Divide that measurement by 3.14 to get the inner diameter you need, then find it in the chart below.
Method two: measure a bangle you already wear
- Take a bangle that fits you well and lay it flat.
- Measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, through the centre. Do not include the metal thickness.
- That figure is the inner diameter. Match it to the chart.
Standard Indian bangle size chart
- 2.2 — inner diameter 2.125 inches, 5.4 cm
- 2.4 — inner diameter 2.25 inches, 5.7 cm
- 2.6 — inner diameter 2.375 inches, 6.0 cm
- 2.8 — inner diameter 2.5 inches, 6.4 cm
- 2.10 — inner diameter 2.625 inches, 6.7 cm
- 2.12 — inner diameter 2.75 inches, 7.0 cm
2.6 and 2.8 are the most commonly ordered sizes. A kada worn as a statement piece is often taken one size up for an easier fit over the knuckle.
Ring sizing
Ring size is set by the inner diameter of the band, measured across the inside in millimetres. Circumference is that figure multiplied by 3.14.
Measuring at home
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or thread around the base of the finger, snug but not tight.
- Mark the overlap, lay it flat, and measure the length in millimetres. That is your circumference.
- Or take a ring that already fits that finger and measure straight across the inside in millimetres. That is your diameter.
- Measure at the end of the day. Fingers swell slightly as the day goes on, and a ring sized in the morning can feel tight by evening.
- Check that the ring will pass over your knuckle, not just sit on the base of the finger.
Indian ring size chart
- Size 10 — 15.7 mm diameter, 49.3 mm circumference
- Size 12 — 16.5 mm diameter, 51.8 mm circumference
- Size 14 — 17.3 mm diameter, 54.4 mm circumference
- Size 16 — 18.1 mm diameter, 57.0 mm circumference
- Size 18 — 19.0 mm diameter, 59.5 mm circumference
- Size 20 — 19.8 mm diameter, 62.1 mm circumference
- Size 22 — 20.6 mm diameter, 64.6 mm circumference
If your measurement falls between two sizes, take the larger one. Send us your millimetre reading on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size against the specific piece you want.
Chain and necklace lengths
Length is measured as the full loop of the chain, clasp included.
- 16 inches, choker — sits close around the base of the neck. Best worn against bare skin or a wide neckline. Suits a slimmer neck and layers well as the shortest strand.
- 18 inches, princess — sits just at or below the collarbone. The most versatile length, and the standard choice for a pendant. Works with almost any neckline.
- 20 inches, matinee — falls a few inches below the collarbone, onto the chest. Suits heavier pendants, high necklines and kurtas. The usual starting length for men.
To check a length before ordering, cut a piece of string to size, hold it around your neck in front of a mirror, and see where it falls.
Earrings and studs
- Stud posts are around 10 to 11 mm long, which suits most ear lobes. A thicker lobe may need the back seated a little further out.
- Butterfly backs slide along the post, so studs adjust to your lobe. Screw backs sit fixed and hold heavier stones more securely.
- Drop earrings are listed with a total drop measurement from the top of the ear wire to the lowest point. Hold a ruler against your ear to picture where it will end.
- Hoops are listed by outer diameter. A 15 mm hoop reads as small and close to the lobe. A 40 mm hoop reads as a statement.
If the size is wrong
A wrong size is covered by our 15-day exchange, counted from the day the order is delivered. The piece must be unused and in original condition with packaging intact. Write to care@ruaab.in or message WhatsApp and we will arrange it. Note that we exchange, we do not refund.
